Making Disciples Make Disciples
This slogan sums up the work of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Taytay in East Manila. For 38 years the Lord has led this congregation in ministry. We have joined them at a very unique time as the older men of the church are entirely focused on the next generation of church leaders, while they themselves serve. A number of outreach ministries are led my the youth and young adults while the older men support or partner with them. It's quite unique among churches. This affords us the joy of serving alongside and standing with them in ministry. Robert is preaching regularly and meeting with men for discipleship and peer mentoring to help them improve in the exegetical process and expositional sermon delivery. The Clarks have joined hands in outreach ministry with EBC leaders and members (see below) and our girls attended their youth ministry when they could, which is known as A.N.T.S. (Ambassadors Never Tire in Service) Pray for this wonderful congregation that the Lord will lead them into greater ministry opportunities as they commit themselves to know and obey His Word. Pastors Roi Cruz, Vincent Castillo and Joseph Blasco have been giving Robert opportunities to use the Institute for Practical Theology seminars and workshops with EBC. Upon our return to Manila we will conduct the Common Church Issues Workshop with EBC leadership and possibly with the leaders their of church plants. Kim has had opportunity to teach among the EBC women about "Women in Ministry" and, upon our return to Manila, she hopes teach Bible study materials she is being trained with while on furlough. We praise the Lord for leading us to serve alongside this congregation. |

EBC Preachers' Coalition
Emmanuel Baptist has a 5 preacher rotation going, plus men who preach in outlying small churches or preaching stations. We decided that pursuing excellence in the preaching of God's Word requires coming together for mutual encouragement, prayer and resourcing. We communicate through a Facebook page dedicated to helping one another improve our skills as exegetes and expository preachers of God's Word
Preachers' Coalition meets the every Monday night to discuss certain sermon prep topics and resources.

We are all focused on giving our best each time we are in the pulpit and preaching the truth from God's Word. As God leads the leadership of EBC to determine a biblical theme of the year and certain emphases each month, this allows each of the preachers to focus on a passage in an expository manner.
