Faith Academy (FA) was established in July 1957 when a group of missionary families from various missions organizations banded together and trusted the Lord to meet the educational needs of their MKs/TCKs (Missionary Kids/Third-Culture Kids).

None of the teaching and administrators are paid by Faith Academy!   All are volunteer missionaries who are supported by their supporting churches and believers in their respective countries.  

FA is a huge support to ministries all over the Philippines and Asia as missionary families MUST have a quality option for educating their children no matter if they are from the US, the Philippines, Canada, Korea or even an Asian or European country.  

As an international K-12 Christian school, FA has more than 25 countries represented in their student body and faculty. It is a very international school.

After over 60 years, FA now has less students then it used to, but still is providing what the students of missionary families need in education.  

Its mission statement reads:   The international Christian school of Faith Academy, Inc. is committed to equipping students to be Christ-like, life-long learners by providing a dynamic relevant education primarily for the children of missionaries working in Asia.

Kim serves as a missionary teacher in the FA High School department focusing on Pre-Calculus, Algebra 2, Applied Math and Geometry.  She works hard to provide the best teaching possible for all her students, with eyes and ears attentive to their need to hear and understand the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.  

For her it is "Ministry Thru Math" as she is always seeking to use everyday educational life with its twists, turns and surprises to speak into the lives of her students about a walk of faith.  

Items of Prayer 
  • Pray for Kim as she has now served here 6 years and has developed a well-organized and dedicated system of learning which the students have responded well to.
  • Pray for Kim as she takes opportunities each day as they come up and associated with each student to speak about biblical concepts and principles of character and gospel truth! 
  • Pray too for her as she meets with junior and senior girls outside of class to talk about salvation and sanctification issues from the classic book The Pilgrim's Progress and passages in Scripture.

Applied Mathematics in Action: As part of their class project they created a life-size Monopoly Game based on Faith Academy (complete with pictures of teachers/administrators on money and books to chromebooks rather than houses to hotels!)

Kim brings 30+ years of experience to Faith Academy to help students hear the gospel or in their walk of faith and assurance of salvation.  

​Plus, she has extensive experience over the years of ministry in discipleship and biblical counseling from our time of serving in the US and Czech. She enjoys talking to student about biblical truth.
After gaining experience as a math tutor, substitute teacher and SAT prep instructor, during our extended time in the US, Kim was well prepared for her role at Faith Academy.

Her degree and experience as a software engineer as well as holding a mathematics minor allows her to add to the foundation of FA culture in developing Christ-like, life-long learners.

​"Ministry through Math" allows Kim to use the courses of Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry,  Applied Math & Pre-Calculus to deepen relationships with her students and get to matters of the heart.  

​Kim has had many conversations with students each week about God's will, biblical character qualities and the gospel.
